‘Rejoice in the Lord Always!’

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

At this most joyous time of year all of us on the Development Committee want to thank everyone who has contributed to the Campaign for St. John’s. Because of your generosity we have amassed 158 pledges totaling $475,237 of which we have already collected $135,437.71. In addition, we have received donations of $61,281.21. As a token of our appreciation, we have reserved a complimentary copy of Our Faith Filled Heritage, the bicentennial history of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, for each family that has donated to the campaign. You may pick up your book at the Parish Office between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4. p.m.

As you know, we have a long way to go to reach our goal of $1,200,000, but we are encouraged by your continuing support. Please have a warm, peace-filled Christmas and in the new year “Remember St. John’s”!

You’re Invited

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

The Campaign for St. John’s will ensure that we safeguard our legacy. In 2007, a Building Code Review and Site Conditions Report identified nearly $7.5 million of needed repair and restoration as well as opportunities for facility improvements.  We would like the opportunity to share with you our plans for this important project and our plans for the future.  We will be holding three receptions. The receptions are listed below.  Please call 215-563-4145 x 23 to RSVP for your reception of choice so that we may plan accordingly.  Refreshments will be served. You may email the parish office at sjeoffice@yahoo.com

Excellent Parish Participation

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Over 30 percent of the parish participated in our in-pew survey.   We collected 226 surveys in all.  The results are being sent to a keypunch service, which will tabulate the findings and return them to the committee.

In the meantime, the Capital Campaign is hard at work developing text and gathering photos for a new brochure. Once completed, it will be a great asset to our renovation and revitalization effort.
